Rotating a text box:
Use one of these techniques to rotate a text box:
Select the text in the text box, and on the Home tab, click the Text Direction button and then choose an option on the drop-down list.
Turning a shape into a text box:
Create the shape, and then click in the shape and start typing.
Turning a text box into a shape:
Right-click the text box and choose Format Shape. In the Format Shape dialog box, click the Text Box category, and under AutoFit, click the Do Not AutoFit option button. Then close the dialog box, click the (Drawing Tools) Format tab, click the Edit Shape button, choose Change Shape on the drop-down list, and choose a shape on the Change Shape submenu.

Follow these steps: Select the circle for which you want to add circular text. Type some text — by default the text is inserted right at the middle of the circle as shown in the Figure below. With the circle still. Type your text over the placeholder text. Select the text to display the Drawing Tools tab. Go to either the WordArt Styles or Text Styles group, then select Text Effects, which is represented by a blue and white letter A. In fact, we will use the Follow Path effect under Text Effects. In order to curve the text using WordArt in PowerPoint you need to highlight the text shape and then go to Format and click on drop down menu Text Effects. Then, look for Transform option and here you can see a few options for curved text and arc effects under the section Follow Path.
Text boxes give you an opportunity to exercise your creativity. They add another element to slides. Use them to position text wherever you want, annotate a chart or equation, or place an announcement on a slide. You can even create a vertical text box in which the text reads from top to bottom instead of left to right, or turn a text box into a circle, arrow, or other shape.

Here are the basics of handling text boxes in PowerPoint:
Creating a text box:On the Insert tab, open the drop-down list on the Text Box button and choose Horizontal or Vertical. Text in a horizontal text box reads from left to right, in a vertical text box, text reads from top to bottom or bottom to top. Move the pointer to a part of the slide where you can see the text box pointer, a downward-pointing arrow. Click and start dragging to create your text box.Rotating a text box:

- Drag the rotation handle, the green circle above the text box.
- On the (Drawing Tools) Format tab, click the Rotate button and choose a Rotate or Flip command on the drop-down list. (Depending on the size of your screen, you may have to click the Arrange button first.)
- On the (Drawing Tools) Format tab, click the Size group button (you may have to click the Size button first), and in the Size and Position dialog box, enter a measurement in the Rotation box.

Step 1: Insert relevant SmartArt graphic
Go to Insert -> SmartArt -> Cycle -> Segmented cycle graphic.

Click on the small triangle on the bounding box of the graphic and go to Text pane of SmartArt. Press ‘Enter’ twice to get a five segmented circle.
Step 2: Convert to Shapes
Now go to ‘Design’ tab in the PowerPoint ribbon and select ‘Convert’ -> ‘Convert to Shapes’ option:

You can achieve the result of Convert to Shapes by using Ctrl + A to select all elements in the diagram, Ctrl + X to cut it.
Then you delete the bounding box that is left behind. Finally, Paste back the diagram using Ctrl + V option.
Now delete everything but the circular arrows to get this:

Step 3: Add numbers to the circular arrows
Go to Auto shapes menu and choose oval tool. Draw a small circle while holding the ‘Shift’ tab. Place a circle on the outer edge of each of the circular arrows as shown below:
Select a circular arrow and the corresponding circle while holding the ‘Shift’ tab. Select ‘Shape Union’ option on your Quick access toolbar. (If you don’t have ‘Shape union’ option on your quick access toolbar, please refer to this tutorial to reorganize your quick access toolbar)
